torturing people and stuffing their dismembered bodies in barrels hidden in a small town's abandoned bank vault.
victims were murdered so the killers could cash their welfare checks, but also for enjoyment. According to witnesses at the trial, the two boasted that the "good ones" didn't scream as they were tortured.
this reminded me of bucket

I don't live in Adelaide.
I've never been there.
I woudln't have been capable of serial murders back in 98 when it happened orginally. but now,
that's a different story. Or will be.
